๐Ÿฅ‹ TAGB Coloured Belt Grading

The TAGB Coloured Belt Grading on Friday 26th June is the next opportunity for all coloured belt students to progress to their next belt. Whether you're going for your first Yellow Stripe or pushing for your Red Belt, this is the moment all your training has been building towards.

โš ๏ธ
You must register to be entered into the grading

Simply attending class is not enough โ€” you need to complete your grading entry through the Belt Testing section of the website. Find your current belt, follow the syllabus, and submit your entry. If you're unsure whether you're ready, speak to Mr Cook at your next class.

๐Ÿ† Aim for 2 Classes a Week in the Build-Up

The grading is only weeks away โ€” now is the time to push. Students who attend two classes per week in the final stretch arrive significantly more confident, more polished, and more prepared than those who only manage one. Even one extra session can make a real difference to how you feel on the day.

  • โœ…Know your patterns (Tuls) โ€” run through them slowly at home, then at full speed in class. Repetition builds muscle memory.
  • โœ…Practise your step sparring โ€” ask a family member to be your partner at home. The more natural it feels, the better.
  • โœ…Check your grading syllabus โ€” visit the Belt Testing page for your current belt and make sure you know every element being assessed.
  • โœ…Get your dobok clean and pressed โ€” presentation matters. Arrive looking the part.

๐ŸŽฏ Book a 1-2-1 Session for Extra Grading Prep

The Lincolnshire Taekwondo Championships is one of the best competitions of the year โ€” and it's the perfect first competition for any student who has never stepped onto the competition mat before. Held at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre, it's a well-run, friendly event that always draws a big crowd and a fantastic atmosphere.

๐ŸŒŸ
Even brand new White Belts can enter

You do not need to be an experienced competitor to take part. The Lincs Champs has categories for all ages and all belt levels โ€” including White Belt. We always take a big squad, so if you've ever thought about trying a competition, this is the one to start with.

๐Ÿ… Our Track Record at the Lincs Champs

Train Taekwondo Schools โ€” representing York, East Yorkshire and Beverley โ€” has a proud history at the Lincolnshire Championships. Over the years our students have stood on the podium time and time again across patterns, sparring, and destruction categories. Here's a flavour of what our squad has achieved:

๐Ÿฅ‡

Patterns

Multiple gold medals across junior and senior age groups โ€” our students consistently deliver clean, powerful patterns under competition pressure.

๐Ÿฅ‡

Sparring

York and Beverley students have brought home gold and silver in sparring across multiple weight categories and age groups over the years.

๐Ÿฅˆ

Team Events

We regularly field one of the largest squads at the event โ€” and our team spirit is second to none. The Lincs Champs is always a highlight of the year.

๐Ÿฅ‰

Destruction

Power and technique combined โ€” our students have claimed medals in destruction events, showcasing the quality of their training.

  • ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆWe go as a squad โ€” you won't be alone. Mr Cook and the full Train Taekwondo squad will be there supporting every competitor from warm-up to medal ceremony.
  • โฌœWhite belts are welcome โ€” you don't need to be a Black Belt to compete. Every belt level has its own category, so you'll always be competing against students at a similar stage.
  • ๐Ÿ“ˆCompetition accelerates your progress โ€” students who compete improve faster. The focus and preparation required to enter a competition takes your training to a completely new level.
  • ๐ŸŽ‰It's a brilliant day out โ€” win or lose, the Lincs Champs is always a fantastic experience. Students who enter always say they wish they'd done it sooner.

๐Ÿ“‹ How to Enter

Entry details and forms for the 2026 Lincolnshire Championships will be shared as soon as they are confirmed. Keep an eye on the Club Calendar and our Facebook page for updates. In the meantime, speak to Mr Cook at your next class if you're interested in entering โ€” he'll make sure you're registered as part of the squad.
