3rd Kup — TAGB (ITF) Taekwondo
Congratulations, Red Stripes! 👊 Reaching Red Stripe is a major achievement, and now you're preparing for Red Belt — a true mark of advanced skill in your Taekwondo journey. At this stage, your training focuses on precision, power, control, and maturity in every technique, while showing a deep understanding of TAGB (ITF) principles and the philosophy behind each movement.
Red Belt grading requires a higher level of mastery. Patterns, combinations, and sparring must be executed with confidence, sharpness, and correct technique. Examiners will be looking for strong stances, accurate strikes and blocks, controlled movement, and the ability to perform under pressure. Your attitude, focus, and discipline are just as important as your physical skills.
🚨 Commitment is Essential
At this level, training once or twice a week is no longer enough. To progress safely and effectively toward Black Belt, you should be training multiple times per week. Extra practice improves technique, endurance, sparring ability, and overall performance — all critical for success at Red Belt.
🥊 Advanced Sparring
Sparring standards increase significantly at Red Belt level. You'll be expected to show timing, distance control, advanced combinations, and confidence under pressure. Regular sparring is essential to develop these skills and prepare for both grading and future competition opportunities.
Use the grading video provided to support your training at the club. Practice alongside your classes to refine techniques, build confidence, and understand exactly what will be expected on grading day.
Stay focused, train consistently, push your limits, and listen to your instructor — Red Belt is where Taekwondo transforms from intermediate to advanced. 🥋❤️
1-Step Sparring uses the existing 3-step counter attacks (Nos. 2–10) with additions. Both attacker and defender start in parallel ready stance. The attacker steps forward with the right leg into walking stance and punches with the right hand. On the second occasion, the attacker steps forward with the left leg and left hand. Practise all counters on both sides.
Tick each item once you are confident you can perform it correctly. The progress bar tracks your practical skills — complete all of those to unlock the notification button. Theory and Korean sections are bonus items to help you prepare further. No excuses! 💪
