2nd Dan Black Belt · TAGB Umpire Grade 2 · World Championship Bronze Medallist
Lucas at a recent TAGB championship โ one of many medal-winning performances across local, national and international competition
Lucas Foster began his Taekwondo journey in 2016 at just six years old, and from the very beginning it was clear he had something special. Training consistently through childhood and into his teenage years, he achieved his 1st Dan Black Belt at age 13 in 2022 โ a milestone that marked the beginning of an even more impressive chapter.
In 2023, Lucas stepped onto the world stage and came home with bronze at the World Championship โ one of the most significant achievements in the club's history and a result that announced him as one of the most talented young competitors in the country. He competes regularly at local, national and international level, accumulating experience and medals across sparring events throughout his career.
Perhaps the most defining moment of Lucas's story came at the 2025 World Championship. Injured within the first round, he refused to quit. He continued to fight โ fairly, with control, and with every ounce of the discipline that Taekwondo instils. His parents describe it as their proudest moment: not the medals, but watching their son demonstrate perseverance and self-control under real pressure on the biggest stage. He went on to achieve his 2nd Dan Black Belt in 2025.
Away from competition, Lucas is equally committed to the sport as a whole. He has completed his TAGB Umpire Grade 2 qualification and is excited to begin officiating at competitions โ giving back to the sport that has shaped him and helping to create the same opportunities for the next generation of competitors.
As an Assistant Instructor at Train Taekwondo Schools, Lucas brings a rare combination of elite competitive experience, genuine passion for the sport, and a natural ability to connect with younger students. For any child in the class who dreams of competing, Lucas is living proof of what is possible.
"My favourite part of Taekwondo is helping to support at competitions and helping in the classes. Seeing younger students improve and grow โ that means as much to me as any medal."
