2nd Dan Black Belt · TAGB Certified · Qualified TAGB Umpire · 40+ Medals
Solomon at a TAGB competition โ one of over 40 medals collected across local and national events throughout his career
Solomon Smith has been training in Taekwondo for seven years โ and from the very beginning, it has been a family journey. He started at our Beverley class alongside his sister Delilah, and the two of them have trained together from day one. That bond, built on the mat session after session, is a big part of what makes Solomon the athlete and instructor he is today.
Training alongside three siblings, Solomon knows first-hand what it means to push each other, support each other, and grow together through Taekwondo. That family spirit is something he brings into every class he helps to teach.
Over seven years of training, Solomon has competed at both local and national level, accumulating over 40 medals across sparring events. His competitive record is a testament to the consistency and dedication he has shown throughout his journey โ and he earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in April 2023, and has since achieved his 2nd Dan, a milestone that marked the beginning of a new chapter as a coach and role model.
Alongside his competitive career, Solomon has also completed his TAGB Umpire qualification, giving him experience on both sides of the competition floor and a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed at every level of the sport.
As an Assistant Instructor at Train Taekwondo Schools, Solomon is a fantastic role model for younger students โ especially those who are just starting out. He knows exactly what it feels like to be a beginner, and he brings patience, encouragement, and genuine enthusiasm to every session he is part of.
Solomon and his sister Delilah joined Train Taekwondo Schools together at Beverley, and have trained side by side ever since. Both are now black belts and assistant instructors โ a remarkable achievement for any family, and a genuine reflection of what a supportive training environment can produce over time. Alongside two more siblings who also train with the club, the Smith family is one of the most dedicated Taekwondo families we have had the pleasure of working with.
